Campsite Game Generator

Suggests a campsite activity or game — campfire storytelling, torch-lit hide and seek, camp cooking challenges — for evenings under canvas.

What this generator does

Draws a game that works on a campsite — playable in the dark, in a small space, with whatever is in the tent. That rules out most party games, which assume a table, a screen or printed materials, and is why a general game list is close to useless around a fire.

What you'll get

This generator draws from a hand-checked list of 10 entries. Here is a spread of 6 of them, so you can see the style before you generate:

  • Campfire storytelling, one sentence added by each person
  • Torch-lit hide and seek
  • Stargazing and naming constellations, real or invented
  • Marshmallow toasting competition
  • Campfire sing-along
  • Nature bingo using things spotted nearby

A fixed sample of the list, not a live draw — your own results are picked at random from all 10, without repeating until the list runs out. Original HEKNO-curated campsite-appropriate game list. Last reviewed 2026-07-25.

How to use this tool

  1. Press generate for a game.
  2. Generate again for a different one.

Common use cases

  • Camping trip evening entertainment
  • Family or group camping activities
  • Scout or youth-group camp nights

Randomness and fairness

Drawn uniformly from the list using the browser's cryptographic random number generator. Group size and age are not considered, so read the draw before announcing it.

For how randomness is produced across the whole site, see how Generate Random works.

Practical tips

  • Games that work by voice alone are the ones that survive after dark; if the draw needs light, save it for the afternoon.
  • Agree a finish before starting. On a campsite the neighbouring pitches are closer than they feel.
