Privacy Policy

Generate Random (“we”, “us”) is a HEKNO product providing free random generators, pickers, wheels, dice and decision tools. This policy explains what data we collect, what we deliberately do not collect, and why.

What we never collect

We do not collect, transmit, log, or store:

• Passwords, passphrases or PINs generated using our tools
• Names or list items you type into a picker, wheel or shuffler
• Lottery numbers tied to your identity
• Any account information — Generate Random does not require an account

Password, passphrase and PIN generation runs entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. The values never leave your device.

What we may collect

Where analytics is enabled (see below), we may collect anonymous, aggregate information such as:

• Which generator or category pages are viewed
• Normalised events like “generator started” or “result copied”, identified only by a generator ID
• A count with a tool’s result — how many items it made, which on some tools is a number you set
• Basic device and performance information (browser type, viewport size, load times)
• The length of a search query and how many results it returned — never the search text itself

The words you type are never part of any of this — not a name, a list, a word you asked us to build a result from or a search you ran — and nor is anything we generated for you. A number you set for how many results to make can be: it is the count above.

Analytics status

Generate Random uses Google Analytics 4 with a production measurement ID configured. The analytics script only loads, and only sends events, after you actively accept via the consent banner — declining, or later withdrawing consent, means no analytics activity of any kind reaches Google.

The same anonymous, aggregate events are also sent to HEKNO Analytics, which is run by us rather than by a third party and is used to see which of our tools are useful. It is covered by exactly the same consent choice and the same limits: nothing is sent before you accept, everything stops the moment you withdraw, and it is sent no more about you than Google is — in several respects less, because the events we send it carry nothing about your device or browser. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. So that the pages of one visit can be counted together, each time the site is loaded it makes up a random label and sends that with the events; the label is not stored in your browser, is not carried to your next visit, and is made from nothing about you.

Advertising

Google AdSense’s site code is installed and loads on the pages that could carry advertising. That is not the same as advertising being shown: it serves only once Google has reviewed and approved the site. See our Advertising Disclosure.
