How this generator works
Draws one of ten creature concepts — built from parts of three unrelated real animals, communicates only through colour changes — each stating a biological or behavioural premise rather than a visual description, so the appearance is a design decision you make from it.
Limitations and good to know
- Ten concepts is a small pool for sustained worldbuilding; a project needing a dozen distinct species will exhaust it and start repeating premises.
- Only one says anything about size (the small creature at the top of its food chain), so 'a creature that lives its whole life airborne' could be a moth or a dragon — that scale decision is left to you.
Practical tips
- Decide what it eats and how it moves before drawing; a creature designed from its biology is far more convincing than one designed from its silhouette.
- Base it on a real animal's structure. The most believable invented creatures borrow anatomy that works.
