Lower Body Exercise Generator

Suggests a bodyweight lower-body exercise — squats, lunges, step-ups — needing no equipment at all.

What this generator does

Restricted to movements below the waist. The other half of a split routine alongside the upper-body generator, which is why they are two pages rather than one with a filter.

What you'll get

This generator draws from a hand-checked list of 10 entries. Here is a spread of 6 of them, so you can see the style before you generate:

  • Bodyweight squat
  • Lunge
  • Calf raise
  • Step-up
  • Jump squat
  • Curtsy lunge

A fixed sample of the list, not a live draw — your own results are picked at random from all 10, without repeating until the list runs out. Original HEKNO-curated lower-body exercise list. Last reviewed 2026-07-25.

How this generator works

The list separates movements by which joint does the work — some drive from the knee, some hinge at the hip, and a few load one leg at a time. Drawing several gives a session that covers those patterns instead of three variations of the same squat.

Limitations and good to know

  • Nothing here knows what equipment you have. A movement may come up that needs a rack or a bench, and the honest answer is to draw again.
  • Single-leg movements are mixed in with two-leg ones, and they are not interchangeable — one is much harder to balance and loads the hip differently.
  • No load is suggested. The same movement is a warm-up or the hardest set of the week depending on the weight, and that judgement is not one a list can make.

Practical tips

  • Include both a knee-dominant and a hip-dominant movement across the session for balance.
  • Warm the hips and ankles first — lower-body movements are where cold joints show up quickest.

Entries are chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every entry on the list is equally likely. How Generate Random works.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I keep getting squat variations?
Knee-dominant movements are the largest group, because most gym programmes contain more of them. If you want the other pattern, draw until you get something that hinges at the hip instead.
Can I build a whole leg session from this?
Yes, and the useful shape is one heavy knee movement, one hip hinge, one single-leg movement and one for the calves. Draw until you have that spread rather than taking the first four.
