Suggests a performance name for a musician or performer. The useful constraint is not how it looks but how it survives being said badly — announced over a bad PA, typed into a search box, or shouted. Names that fail that test fail in public, so the suggestions favour ones that are easy to say and to spell.

• A stage name that is already in use by another performer causes real problems with streaming platforms, rights collection and search, and this checks nothing.
• Search the name and check it on the platforms you use before you print anything. A name that is free everywhere is worth more than a better name that is not.
