Study Topic Picker
Picks a random suggestion for which subject or topic to study next — a quick way to decide when everything on your list feels equally urgent.
What this generator does
Picks which subject or topic to work on next. The value is in removing the choice rather than optimising it: deciding what to revise is a genuine source of avoidance, and time spent choosing is reliably time not spent studying.
What you'll get
This generator draws from a hand-checked list of 10 entries. Here is a spread of 6 of them, so you can see the style before you generate:
- Review your weakest subject from this week
- Revisit a topic from last month to keep it fresh
- Practise past exam questions on one topic
- Summarise a chapter in your own words
- Teach a concept out loud as if explaining it to someone else
- Focus on the topic you found hardest this term
A fixed sample of the list, not a live draw — your own results are picked at random from all 10, without repeating until the list runs out. Original authoring for Generate Random.. Last reviewed 2026-07-19.
How to use this tool
- Press generate for a study-topic suggestion.
Common use cases
- Deciding what to revise next
- Breaking revision-planning indecision
- Varying a study session
Practical tips
- Put your weakest topics in more than once if you are drawing from a list. An even draw across topics feels fair and gives the least benefit, because the topics you are worst at are the ones with the most to gain.
Entries are chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every entry on the list is equally likely. How Generate Random works.
