Understanding the controls

Yes/No weights
Two lines, "Yes: 50" and "No: 50" to start. Change either number to bias the answer; equal numbers make it a coin flip.

Worked examples

Yes comes up roughly 7 times in 10 over many presses; any single press is still just Yes or No, one outcome nudged rather than guaranteed.

How this generator works

The two numbers you set are weights, not percentages — "Yes: 70" and "No: 30" gives Yes exactly the same 70% chance as "Yes: 7" and "No: 3", since only their ratio matters. The browser's cryptographic random generator then draws a value that lands on Yes or No in proportion to those weights.

Limitations and good to know

  • Choosing the weighting is choosing the answer's likelihood, so this is a way of formalising a preference rather than removing one.
  • The box starts with Yes and No but is an ordinary weighted list — a third line such as "Maybe: 20" is drawn too, so keep it to two lines for a yes/no answer.
