Colour Dice Generator

Rolls a standard six-colour die — Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black or White — useful for classroom team assignment, board games, or any activity needing a random colour pick.

What this generator does

Rolls a six-sided die with six colour faces, for games and activities that need a colour chosen without anybody being seen to choose it. Six is the useful number precisely because it maps onto a physical die the room already understands.

What you'll get

This generator draws from a hand-checked list of 6 entries. Here is a spread of 6 of them, so you can see the style before you generate:

  • Red
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Yellow
  • Black
  • White

A fixed sample of the list, not a live draw — your own results are picked at random from all 6, without repeating until the list runs out. Standard six-colour die-face set (public/generic). Last reviewed 2026-09-01.

How to use this tool

  1. Press roll for a random colour.
  2. Roll again any time.

Common use cases

  • Classroom team/group colour assignment
  • Board games using colour dice
  • Quick colour-based decisions

Randomness and fairness

All six colours are equally likely on every roll and rolls are independent, so the same colour repeating three times running is ordinary rather than a fault. Over sixty rolls each colour appears about ten times, and noticeably uneven runs within that are expected.
