Pictionary Word Generator
Draws a word filtered for being sketchable — the opposite test to the charades list, where an abstract idea can be actable but impossible to draw — for a Pictionary-style drawing-and-guessing round with kids, adults or a mixed-age table.
What this generator does
Supplies words chosen for being drawable, which is a different filter from the charades list: some things are easy to act and impossible to sketch, and the reverse is just as true.
What you'll get
This generator draws from a hand-checked list of 24 entries. Here is a spread of 6 of them, so you can see the style before you generate:
- Volcano
- Octopus
- Pirate ship
- Waterfall
- Treasure map
- Bicycle
A fixed sample of the list, not a live draw — your own results are picked at random from all 24, without repeating until the list runs out. Original HEKNO-curated word list for drawing games. Last reviewed 2026-07-24.
How to use this tool
- Choose how many words you need.
- Generate to see your words.
Common use cases
- Drawing game nights
- Classroom drawing warm-ups
- Party icebreakers
Limitations and good to know
- Words come from a single list rather than separate easy and hard tiers, so mixed-age groups draw from the same pool regardless of who is holding the pen.
Practical tips
- Ban letters and numbers in the drawing before the first round, or the game becomes charades with a pen.
- Keep turns to a minute. A drawing that has taken three minutes is not going to be guessed.
- Show the word only to the drawer — turn the screen away from the room.
Entries are chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every entry on the list is equally likely. How Generate Random works.
