Standup Order Generator
Shuffles your team's names into a random, fair speaking order for a daily standup — a quick way to avoid always going in the same order.
What this generator does
Produces the speaking order for a stand-up or check-in. Rotating it stops the same person always going first and setting the tone, and stops whoever speaks last always being rushed.
How to use this tool
- Enter your team's names, one per line.
- Press generate for a fair, shuffled standup order.
Understanding the controls
- Team members
- One name per line. Generate fresh each day — a fixed order defeats the purpose of rotating.
Worked examples
- A five-person team
- Ana, Ben, Cat, Dev, Eli → generated order might come back Dev, Ana, Eli, Cat, Ben — a fresh, independent shuffle each time you press generate.
Common use cases
- Daily standup meetings
- Varying who speaks first each day
- Remote and in-person team meetings alike
Limitations and good to know
- A full reshuffle every time — there is no way to pin one person to go first or last, and nothing about a previous day's order is kept, so the same order could in principle come up two days running.
Privacy and your data
Team names are shuffled on your own device and never leave it. Nothing is stored unless you ask: returning tomorrow starts from an empty box, and the team comes back only if you saved it on this device from the panel on this page and press Load. That is deliberate — a tool that remembered your colleagues without being told to would be holding staff data.
