Random Treasure Generator
Generate an evocative, mysterious treasure item to drop into a tabletop RPG session.
What this generator does
Draws treasure from separate banks for different kinds of reward, so a hoard mixes coin, valuables and items rather than repeating one type.
What you'll get
This generator draws from a hand-checked list of 30 entries. Here is a spread of 6 of them, so you can see the style before you generate:
- A tarnished silver locket that won't open
- A map with one corner burned away
- A songbird carved from bone that sings once a year
- A jar of seeds that will not grow in daylight
- A candle that burns downwards from the wick
- A hinge, oiled and cared for, attached to nothing
A fixed sample of the list, not a live draw — your own results are picked at random from all 30, without repeating until the list runs out. Original HEKNO-curated system-agnostic tabletop treasure list. Last reviewed 2026-09-03.
How to use this tool
- Choose how many items to generate.
- Generate to see your results.
Common use cases
- Populating a treasure hoard on the fly
- Adding a mysterious plot hook item
- Game master session prep
Limitations and good to know
- Not balanced against any system's wealth-by-level guidance. A games master should scale what is rolled to the party and the encounter.
Entries are chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so every entry on the list is equally likely. How Generate Random works.
