Limitations and good to know
- The 60 traits are a starting bank, not a personality system — the tool supplies one defining characteristic, and a full character sheet needs more than a handful of draws from it.
- Some traits are already double-sided ('warm but guarded'); others name one quality only ('endlessly curious'). The built-in contrast this tool is good for is not present in every draw.
- Traits are shorthand for fiction, not a psychological framework, and should not be read as describing real people.
Practical tips
- Generate two and use the tension between them; a character with one trait is a description, a character with two competing ones is a person.
- Show the trait in an action rather than stating it. A trait the reader has to infer is one they believe.
