Draws a single hook from a character's past to build outwards from, rather than a finished history. One hook is more useful than a biography because it leaves you deciding the details that matter to your story, and because a fully specified past tends to get explained on the page instead of implied.

How this generator works

Limitations and good to know

• Ten hooks is a small set; the page works through all ten without a repeat, so only a project with more than ten characters meets a hook twice.
• A hook names an event only, with no names, dates or details attached — everything specific still has to come from you.
